Farmers expect purgatory; subsidies will be reduced because of pollution

Several-billion costs will have to be still paid by Czech farmers, if they want to get European subsidies further. They can loose them from the beginning of next year, if they will break adopted European regulations. Their collection was approved in frame of an amendment of act on agriculture by the members of Parliament and it should come in force from the next year. From countries of the original European fifteen into the Czech Republic a practice of so called cross-compliance will arrive concerning first of all protection of environment, security of work, and well farm animal treatment. Adoption of this law is a condition for obtaining of agrarian subsidies from the European Union for the Czech Republic as well as for concrete farmers.

Will organic farming be future model for European agriculture?

From European workshop on bio-foods and organic farming and its political frame in Hungary. Thirty European specialists from twenty countries of the EU and EFTA who met at a workshop “Bio-foods and eco-farming and its political frame” in Hortobágy in Hungary welcomed an initiative of French presidency to revise the CAP post-2013 and called upon the Council to adopt organic farming as a future model for European agriculture. The CAP came to a key break: the reduction of budgetary costs, increase of food prices, the bio-fuels production, climatic changes, ecological problems.

Farmers gave chance to Gandalovič

If farmers will demonstrate because of a budget, it is not meanwhile clear. The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič wants still to negotiate. On the third of October he will meet representatives of the Agrarian Chamber and will try to get money for increase of direct complementary payments. If there will not be an agreement, according to Jan Veleba, the president of ACH, farmers are willing to protest. They determined the date on the 13th of October. It should be dealt with a blockade of communications all over the Czech Republic and a demonstration in front of the Government Office. “We reached for nothing. The government gave a signal that it selected and that our needs did not take in mind so much”.

LČR took action against company CE WOOD, a.s.

A law office Toman, & Devátý and partners, which represents Lesy České Republiky, s.p., took an action for payment an amount outstanding of 86 387 526,40 CZK in a suit with the company CE WOOD, a.s. on the 24th of September in the Regional Court in Hradec Králové. This amount is a sum of issued invoices which CE WOOD has not paid yet and is in delay with payment. Lesy České Republiky, s.p. require payment of the above mentioned amount with attributions (the interest on late payment). A constituent of the action is a proposal of regulation of precaution.
