EU forbidden import of children food from China. Because of milk

Today a ban of import of children food produced in China comes in force in all twenty seven member state of the European Union – so also in the Czech Republic. A reason is a concern for spread of infection from poisonous Chinese milk. Four children have already died and other more than 50 thousands have tainted with the objectionable milk containing dengerous melamim. It causes serious kidney problems. A spokeswoman of the European Commission also announced that some Chinese products in which a suspicion of the contamination can appear will be tested too.

New public notice says how to dispose of bio-wastes

The Ministry of Environment (MŽP) issued a public notice expected for a long time which deals with details of bio-wastes disposal. The ruling introduces a list of bio-fuels usable in various plants for their processing; determines technological requirement for compost and bio-gas stations, and sets up quality of outputs from these plants including possibility of their further use. The public notice was prepared by MŽP in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Health Care. “By this time no other legal regulation has existed which would define clearly conditions for disposal of treated bio-waste.

Brewer chose as the best beer Kozel, Zubr and Rebel

The best Czech beers of the year 2008 are Velkopopovický Kozel and Zubr from Přerov in a category of light beers, and Rebel from Havlíčkův Brod and Janáček from Vyškov among dark beers. In frame of degustation competition Czech beer (České pivo) twenty-member special jury, consisted from representatives of the Czech Beer and Malt Association (ČSPS), decided on that on Thursday. The most prestigious category of light legers was won by two representatives of the brewery from Velké Popovice – eleven-degree lager Medium and twelve-degree lager Premium. Lager Litovel Premium ended on the third place in the prestigious category.

Planet Ark: OSN opened program of world forests protection

The UNO opened a program REDD which is about to protect world forests growths. The fund managed by the UNO will be financed by rich states which will provide finances to poor countries to protect forests against cutting and also to plant new trees – the agency Reuters writes. The UNO action called Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation Programme (UN-REDD) could help nine developing states including Bolivia, Indonesia and Zambia. Money should aim at monitoring of forests and their quality. “Forests are much more valuable alive than dead”.
