Farmers want to pour milk, they dislike prices

Farmers from the region Šumperk prepare a demonstration. Demonstrative pouring of milk on pieces of land of a local farmer is planned on Friday. According to a director of the Regional Agrarian Chamber Šumperk, Radek Musil, a main aim is to draw attention to current low prices of milk on Czech market and vice versa uselessly high prices of mil products. “Buy-out prices of milk moves now at average about seven crowns per liter in the Czech Republic, however, I know also farmer who got paid only 6,30 crowns”, Musil said. Such prices are according to him liquidation for farmers.

More than billion will go in subsidy programs in agriculture next year

In total 1 billion and hundred million crowns will pour in Czech agriculture in frame of so called subsidy programs in 2009. Their height was approved by the Cabinet at yesterday´s meeting. The subsidy programs for 2009, which make for a support of restructuring and increase of competitiveness of Czech agrarian sector, have to be supported by the Parliament of the CR together with a state budget. A proposal of financial means determined for subsidy programs for 2009 stems from the total financial limit in height 1 100 million crowns.

EU farmers harvested more oil crops

According to an estimation Coceral thanks to favourable climatic conditions European farmers even within a reduction of total acreage of crop areas by 4 % (in comparison with 2007) harvested 26,4 mil. tons of oil crops. France and Germany became again the main suppliers of plant oils in the European Union this year. With total 11,73 mil tons of harvested rape, sunflower seeds, and soya bans they took 44 % of the total EU production, a press service Landvolk reported. According to the estimation Coceral EU produced in total 26,4 mil. tons of oil crops this year which is almost by 4 % more than the last year.

Competition for title ČESKÉ BIO 2009 announced!

PRO-BIO LIGA announces the 3rd year of a competition ČESKÉ BIO – a consumers´ voting for the most popular bio-food produced from Czech raw materials. The announcement of winning products will take place traditionally in frame of an international fair Biostyl 2009. A partner of the competition is the company INCHEBA and a medial partner the journal Apetit.
