Black market on farms ends
Sale from yard: Owners of small food premises and above all farmers who want or already supply their products in a regional network will not have to battle with uselessly severe veterinary and sanitary codes. The Ministry of Agriculture prepares a public notice which will moderate the current often bureaucratic conditions and will enable farmers to process and sell milk and meat products directly on farm or to supply them on a local market.
Food inspection revealed eight adulterated honeys
The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) in frame of its competences devotes itself to honeys inspection in a long term. In last days the inspection revealed eight adulterated products. Analyses in SZPI laboratories detected a higher presence of so called C4 sugars in these honeys. It is dealt with sugars which are created by non-melliferous plants as e.g. corn or sugar cane.
Fifth of drinking water in region disappears from pipes
Despite the fact, water managers succeed to gradually decrease losses; annually tens of million crowns go in investments. Roughly a fifth of produced drinking water goes to waste annually in the south of Bohemia. Water managers put in its renewal tens of millions crown annually. “In the period from October 2007 to the end of September 2008 the company Vodovody a kanalizace Jižní Čechy (VAK JČ) produced 30,3 million of cubic meters of drinking water”, an operation manager of VAK JČ Olga Štíchová told.
Conference of Agricultural Union evaluated actual situation in agricu lture
Possible impacts of an economic crisis on farmers were evaluated at a nation-wide conference of the Agricultural Union by the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandoalovič today. Of course, the discussion was lead also about department priorities of the coming Czech presidency. The minister Gandalovič during his speech at the conference expressed his opinion of the actual situation. According his words the economic crises will obviously reflect itself also in agriculture. Owing to lower efficiency of economy next year a pressure on cutouts in the state budget will arrive evidently.
