New beer giant comes into being, it is already as big as Budvar

Four of Czech enterprisers, who stay behind a group K Brewery, obtained Lobkowiczký pivovar and penetrated among the biggest players on the market. Hospodářské noviny founded out that that the firm K Brewery obtained Lobkowiczký pivovar (brewery) and Pivovar Rychtář from Hlinska. Now already eight marks belong to it, for example Svijany, Ježek and Platan. Altogether they produce over a million hectoliters of beer per year. A chairman of its directorship Zdeněk Radil confirmed that he together with an enterpriser Eva Kropová hold a minority interest in the company.

About the 90th anniversary of veterinary education

Just today celebrations of Czech veterinary education start at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, “In the year of the ninetieth anniversary of the rise of an independent republic it is important to remind also this anniversary of establishment of our independent University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno”, said Petr Gandalovič, the Minister of Agriculture of the CR in his speech. The minister mentioned about a tradition of veterinary education as well as inspection in the area of animal health and veterinary hygiene which stretches back in the ninetieth century and to which it was took up successfully from the year 1918 when the Veterinary University in Brno (Vysoká škola zvěrolékařská) was established.

Virgin forest as large as 630 Wenceslas squares will rise in the Czech Republic

Territories without intervention will rise next years in Czech forests. They will take an area of approximately 630 Wenceslas squares. Two state organizations – Lesy ČR and the Conservation of Nature and Landscape Agency agreed on it. “The agreement speaks about six and half thousand hectares of territories without intervention”, a spokesman of Lesy Radek Drahný said to Aktuálně.cz. An acreage of Wenceslas square is something over four hectares. The state enterprise Lesy and the Conservation of Nature and Landscape Agency announced meantime nine territories where trees will not be cut nor planted out new ones and the nature will be left to self development.

You will spend as much money as last year for Christmas trees

With November´s arival everything conforms to preparations for Christmas. Foresters have the same; they start to cut trees determined for sale. “Meanwhile we have not started to cut, however, we will certainly start soon. It is favourable that people become more conscious, so not only they will not steal the trees too much but also we will probably cut them less because many households have already had an artificial tree”, Jan Krejza from the Forest Administration Ledeč nad Sázavou said. In Ledeč they have enough work with removal of consequences after a storm; they have not had enough time to think about measures against poachers.
