Gandalovič presented current priorities of agricultural policy
Today at an annual meeting of the Agrarian Chamber of the CR in Brno the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič presented steps which should reduce impacts of an economic crisis on farmers. The minister also evaluated a cooperation of the Ministry of Environment with the Agrarian Chamber as one of the most significant non-governmental partner of the Ministry. At the annual meeting of ACH CR the minister Gandalovič expressed his opinion of the actual economic situation which meanwhile has not touched too much the Czech agriculture. Nevertheless, it is very likely that it will happen before long.
New eco-marks on Czech market: Paper bags, boxes for eggs, and detergents
The Minister of Environment Martin Bursík signed certificates which bestow eco-mark Ecologically Regardful Product. Despite the fact that the production is realized abroad. Both firms use paper as starting raw material which is recycled and regardfully processed and changed in their products. Czech customers obtain in this way again better orientation on the market and have a bigger chance to decide more favourably for the environment. The first of the evaluated is a Hungarian firm Onix Packaging producing paper bags.
Farmers protest. The Czech Republic is stricter than Brussels
Farmers in the Czech Republic protest. Officers from the Ministry of Agriculture put through such a checking system of keeping rules of correct management which is significantly stricter than regulation of Brussels´ officers. So, next year, farmers in the Czech Republic will face twenty- to thirtyfold amount of checks of keeping of so called cross-compliance (CC) than farmers in other Union countries. Consultants of the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič counted that the system put through by the ministerial officers will mean in practice seven to ten thousand checks of agricultural enterprisers yearly while within keeping EU regulations it would be only 250.
Coronation of demanding work of fishermen from Třeboň
A haul of the pond Svět in Třeboň in South Bohemia was not only a highlight of two-year work effort of fishermen but also a function. The pond Svět was the first big water deal of Jakub Krčín from Jelčany. At the time when he moved in Třeboň South-Bohemian fishpond management has got over a long development. Old fishpond managers built a wide network of ponds here and Štěpánek Netolický enlarged them and connected in one unified water system. As soon as Krčín got acquainted with all Štěpánek´s proposals, he decided to realize them. Třeboň became his headquarters in big action against marshland and peat-bogs in Třeboň region.
