Agricultural trade unions called upon government to remit taxes
The Trade Union of Agriculture and Nutrition Workers – the Free Trade Unions Association called upon the government to remit value added tax from 19 to 17 percents, a decrease of tax burden of employees by four percents, and tax duty from profit of firms to 17 percents today. According to the Union these steps contributed to moderation of impacts of a world financial crisis on citizen in the CR and their employment. Trade unionists require also acceleration of property depreciation and faster spending funds from the European Union.
Irish pig meat were not distributed in the CR, nor by means of trade chains
A national contact place of the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed in the CR which operates in frame of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection received first information on a case of Irish pig meat contaminated with dioxins on Friday afternoon. Other notifications came during the weekend. The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) distributed the information to all members of the CR system, e.g. to administrations of public health protection, the State Veterinary Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture, the General Customs Directorate and so on.
Pigs are kept in very bad conditions in European large-scale breedings
In European large-scale breedings pigs are kept in very bad and often unauthorized conditions. An investigation made by an organization for farm animal protection Compassion in World Farming revealed that. Experts realizing the research on farms throughout Europe found pitiful life conditions of animals on all visited farms. Most breeding pigs are bred in boxes so narrow that they cannot even turn. Most pigs in fattening crowd in packed pure and often very dirty pens, the Society for Animals warned.
Czech bio-food 2008: Other reason why to participate
A final term for nominations of bio-foods in a company Czech bio-food 2008 comes on, incomplete month remains! There are many reasons why not to miss the term, besides the most important, of course, - a chance to win. Nevertheless, the organizers succeeded to acquire other advantage of participation for Czech bio-foods producers at the last minute. A medial partner of the competition became a consumers magazine BIO & NATUR which is issued in edition 60 000 pieces and is distributed every month in 400 shops of bio-foods in the Czech Republic.
