Other challenge for water-management projects is opened

Already the third time a possibility for towns and municipalities opens in the Operational Program Environment to get financial means for fulfillment of the CR engagement from the accession agreement – to secure purification of sewerage waters under the Instruction 91/271/EHS by the end of 2010. From Monday the 15th of December t he State Fund of CR Environment will start to receive applications in a priority axis 1 Improvement of water-management infrastructure and flood hazard control of the Operational Program Environment. Application will be received till the 23rd of February 2009. The challenge is opened for sub-area of the support 1.1.1 Reduction of contamination from communal wastes and 1.2 Improvement of drinking water quality.

Large-scale breedings are fined by ČIŽP for operation without license

The Czech Inspection of Environment (ČIŽP) imposed fines from 10.000 to 50.000 crowns to eight large-scale breedings of broilers and pigs which did not have integrated operation license in time. It happens ex parte of the ecological movement Děti Země (Earth´s Children) which was initiated by its Pilsen branch at the last year end. Its representative Martin Hyťha said it to ČTK. According to him, the sanctions, which can reach as much as seven million crowns, are insufficient. The inspection confirmed the imposed fines. “Farms did not measured that an administrative procedure will last so long and did not fulfill the lawful term. The fines are graduated according to when the applications were registered at a regional authority.

SZPI will publish evaluation of trade chains

On Tuesday the 9th of December the CR Trade and Travel Movement Union organized a meeting of the Union members from trade chains with representatives of supervisory authorities. Also management of the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) which check food safety and quality participated in. On this occasion a central director Ing. Jakub Šebesta informed the present representatives of chains on a new SZPI initiative which should ensure a wider informedness of consumers. The Inspection decided to publish regularly a scale of trade chains which will be compiled according to SZPI checks.

Press declaration

The Czech-Moravian Agrarian Confederation (ČMAK) which associates the Agricultural Union of the CR (ZS ČR) and the Czech-Moravian Agricultural Entrepreneurs Union (ČM SZP) discussed a statement to a proposal of Collective agreement of higher degree closed annually with the Trade Union of Agriculture and Nutrition Workers – the Association of Free Trade Unions of the CR. Regarding the expected development of financial crisis and the present fall of agricultural commodity prices, growth of wages in agriculture in the 3rd quarter 2008 against 2007 by 9,3 %, ČMAK suggest to prolong the Collective agreement of higher degree closed for 2008 also for the year 2009 without changes in wage tariffs.
