EU industry expects green revolution

Industry of the European Union expects a “green” revolution. At a summit in Brussels on Friday, chief of states and governments of European twenty seven agreed on a way of reducing of greenhouse gas emission till 2020. It was announced by diplomatic sources. The EU already some time ago agreed reducing greenhouse gas emission by the 2020 by fifth against 1990 and also by 2020 it will have increase a share of renewable energy to 20 percent. The agreement is a tool in fact which should secure fulfillment of these aims. The Czech Republic acquire some relieves which could bring smaller rise and price of electricity than it was expected. The proposal has to be approved by the European Parliament.

Jiří Novák from LČR will be possibly deputy minister of agriculture

A general director of state enterprise Lesy České Republiky (LČR) Jiří Novák got an offer for a position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture for forest management. He considers at this time whether to accept the offer. If he does it Novák would replace in the function the current Deputy Minister of Agriculture for forestry management Karel Trůbl who leaves the position on base of already prior agreements on the 31st of December.

Law on fertilizers was passed by Senate

The second chamber of the CR Parliament pass definitively a government amendment of act on fertilizers today put forward by the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič. The aim of law on agreement is above specification and simplification of the used norm. Also, the novel brings simplification of registration proceedings and a possibility to use organic fertilizer me into being in bio-gas production. Also use of fertilizers on agricultural land will be tightened up.

European Food Safety Authority wants to cooperates with MZe within presidency

A directress of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle discussed a cooperation in frame of preparation for CR presidency in the EU at the Ministry of Agriculture. The EFSA represents a basic stone of the European Union for evaluation of risks implicit in foods and feeds. During CR presidency, the EFSA chief wants, for example, to organize together two important actions in the given area: the first is a conference “Food research to support of science-based preparations of legal regulations: challenges for producers and consumers” which will take place on the 21st to 22nd of April next year in KCP Prague.
