From 1.1.2009 Deputy Minister for forest management will be Jiří Novák

A new Deputy Minister for forest management division of the Ministry of Agriculture will be nominated to the 1st of January 2009 by the Minister of Agriculture, Petr Gandalovič. The position will be overtook by the current director of Lesy České Republiky s.p. (LČR) Jiří Novák who will replace leaving deputy minister Karel Trůbl. He will be called off on base of a prior agreement with the minister Gandalovič to the 31st of December 2008. Regarding the nomination in function of Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Jiří Novák will end at the position of general director of LČR. In connection with the nomination, a current executive director Svatopluk Sýkora is entrusted with the LČR management till a selection procedure is advertised.

MŽP negotiated extraordinary subsidies for projects with exchange-rate losses

The Ministry of Environment brings a solution to help municipalities which could have problems in projects of sewerage waters purification account on exchange-rate losses owing to strengthening Czech crown. “ We negotiated a refund of exchange-rate losses to municipalities and towns in a total amount of half billion crowns for projects of sewerage waters purification which the municipalities negotiated in 2004 to 2006 so that they could finish them without delay. I am going with the proposal in the government on Tuesday” , the Minister of Environment Martin Bursík says. A material which the government will discuss on Tuesday suggests a financial compensation of exchange-rate loses in height 500 million crowns for projects of the Consistency Funds from the years 2004 – 2006 which owing to strengthening crown lost a big part of the approved support.

On Friday late at night delegation came to an agreement on revision and better effectiveness of the way of evaluation and decision making on projects of so called "clean development mechanism" (CDM), so projects which are financed by developed countries in developing countries of purpose to reduce other greenhouse-gas emissions or to help to these countries to adapt to climatic changes impacts. “The agreement means that decision making on CDM projects will be much more transparent and under public control. At the same time it will be significantly less bureaucratic. We also agreed that an ethics code of CDM executive committee has to be established so that there will not be an interest concurrence”, the Minister of Environment Martin Bursík says.

Němec: Decrease in production prices of milk products is caused by market stagnation

A cause of year-on-year decrease in production prices of milk products in November by more than 13 percents, on which the Czech Statistic Office informed today, is the stagnating world-wide milk market. It was stated by a chairman of The Czech-Moravian Dairy Industry Union Michal Němec. The November decrease has been the most significant price fall of milk products since 1991. However, meanwhile, final consumers of milk product do not feel the significant decrease in prices, Němec told. Food producers and farmers accordingly indicate that Sellers are who have the biggest influence on final prices. “Sale prices of industrial producers decrease far faster than consumer process”, Němec said to ČTK.
