Incomes of Slovak state forests for paid hunts decreased
Incomes for paid hunts of Slovak state forests from the firm Lesy SR decreased slightly last year. Shoot of deers, mouflons and other game was paid by about 4000 mainly foreign huntsmen. Anita Fáková, a spokeswoman of the company, said it to ČTK. According to her, the rarest catch was for example a deer shot to death in the mountain Poĺana whose attire with a part of skull weighted 11,5 kilograms. The paid shoot brought approximately 2,77 billion Euros ( about 76 million CZK) to the firm Lesy SR in 2008 which was by 53,110 Euro (about 1,5 million CZK) less than in 2007.
Prices of bio-foods grow. Bio-chicken costs by 400 % more
Difference between the price of bio-foods and conventional foods permanently grows. An assortment of goods (especially of Czech origin) in bio-quality in comparison with last tests did not changed significantly, despite the fact the difference between conventional and ecological foods increased to 110 %. On the contrary, supply in a specialized shop Biotop in contrast to prices increased. Results of comparative purchase realized by PRO-BIO LIGA in Prague shops prove it. From the results of comparative test which compared a width of assortment and the price of bio-foods in nine trade chains, the specialized shop Biotop and a shop of conventional foods following conclusions were found out:
TZ: New manual Quality and safety of ecological agriculture
Prague – Bioinstitut, o.p.s. in cooperation with PRO-BIO LIGA issues a new handbook of ecological agriculture Quality and safety of bio-foods. The publication is a translation of an original issued by FiBL the Research Institute of Ecological Agriculture in Switzerland. The handbook brings people interested in organic agriculture actual results of researched in the area of bio-foods and their health unobjectionability especially in comparison with conventional products.
Grüne Woche introduced many food products, however, negotiations on milk dominate
Chiefs of agricultural department of many states of the EU as well as out of Europe and agrarian problems experts meet annually at the fair trade Grüne Woche. The minister Gandalovič took the advantage of it to negotiate about a situation on the milk market. Preparedness of he European Commission to solve the situation was declared also by the Euro-comissioner Mariann Fisher Boel. Suggested tools could include an increase of intervention purchases or export subsidies. Also, CZ PRES wants to give a space to discussion on the actual situation in the milk sector at the Council of Ministers of Agriculture and Fishery on the 19th of January 2009.
