Czech successes at fair Jagd & Hund 2009
On the 3rd – 8th February the Czech Republic introduced itself in a role of the biggest European hunting and fishing fair. The Czech Republic presented an exposition on more than 400 m2 and introduced not only the present shape of hunting and fishing in the ČR but also the ČR as an attractive hunting destination and an important producer of hunting and fishing fittings and accessories. The most significant Czech success at the fair is the victory of Jan Brtník in European Championship in deer tempting; silver goes to Austria and a bronze medal in Poland.
ČSÚ: Farmers earned 9,7 billion CZK last year, almost by third less
Czech farmers earned 9,7 billion crowns last year which is approximately by 30 percents less than in a record year 2007 when they earned 13,7 billion crowns. It results from today´s data of the Czech Statistic Office (ČSÚ) about agricultural account. According to preliminary results, a production of agricultural branch was 117,1 billion CZK last year, of it plant production represented 61,1 billion CZK and animal production 51,2 billion CZK. The biggest share in agricultural production in the Czech Republic, more than fifth, belongs to cereals. Including seed in common prices they brought 25,48 bullion crowns to farmers.
Sugar price flies upwards
A price of sugar shot sudden upwards during yesterday´s trading on the International Exchange and got at 4- and 1- month maximum. May contract increased by 48 points (3,6 percents) to 13,9 cent for pound. The cause is a growth on power markets which supports also the sugar market. Further, also technical factors where an important resistance was brought through at the level of February maximum. As next the closest short-term resistance can be considered a border 14 cents.
Representatives suggest incr easing of PF expenditures owing to direct payments
The parliamentary Agricultural Committee suggested increasing of this year´s expenditures of the Land Fund (PF) by 1,3 billion crowns. The reason is an amendment of act on Land Fund which enables to transfer this sum to even up a part of direct payments to Czech farmers. A representative and a reporter for this news Jiří Hanuš (KDU-ČSL) said it to ČTK today.
