International success of beer special Master polotmavý GOLD MEDAL in competition Australian International Beer Awards

Master polotmavý (half-dark beer), 13° beer special of Plzeňský Prazdroj got a gold medal in a n international competition Australian International Beer Awards in a category of special tapped beers defined as beer of amber colour and strong beers. It became the only Czech beer with this award. It is awarded only to beers which perfectly fulfill parameters as a balance taste, flavour or the total appearance. This Australian competition ranks among one of the biggest in the world concerning the number of compared beer marks and breweries. This year 1 140 samples from 215 breweries from 39 countries of the world were nominated. Beers were evaluated by a jury of 33 expert advisers.

Representatives approved start of transformation of Land Fund

On Thursday in the first reading the Chamber of Deputies approved a government novel of law on the Land Fund of the Czech Republic prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture. An aim of the novel is the first steps to a transformation of the Land Fund. Concretely it is dealt with a change of management of the fund from collective to individual; further an enlargement of competences of the supervisory board of the fund and maintenance of control function of the Chamber of Deputies. The novel also suggests a delimitation of an extent of necessary reserve of state land for realization of development state intentions.

By two years Lesy ČR will have released roughly 340 people of present 3500

The state enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR) will have released roughly 340 people by two years. Now the firm has 3500 employees. The reduction of number of people is a part of prepared restructuring of the enterprise under its new direction. The firm does not exclude that it will also cut some employees benefits. A spokeswoman of LČR Eva Kijonková said it to ČTK yesterday. The firm owns a half of forest in the country. According to the general director Svatopluk Sýkora, the decisive motive for prepared changes was not the current crisis of wood-working branch which touches even the LČR management.

Bio-lamb from Biopark is bio-food of 2008 in category meat and meat products

Bio-lamb for grill with rosemary from Biopark production acquire a title the best product in a category meat and meat products in a competition Czech bio-food of 2008. A ceremonial proclamation of the competition results took place on the 25th of March in a hotel Intercontinental in frame of a conference Bio Summit 2009 in Prague. Lamb meat, which is used for production of the winning product, comes from animals bred on eco-farms. For meat production special meat breeds of sheep are raised here whose basic characteristic is a high culinary meat value.
