WTO appeal EU to liberalization of services and agriculture
The World Trade Organization (WTO) notified on Monday that the European Union should progress in liberalization of services sector and should open its agricultural products market. It will help it to a significant activation from the present economic depression and to starting of sustainable growth. In its review of EU trade policy WTO stated that the Union was the biggest world exporter and the second biggest importer after the USA and its share in world goods trade was 17 percents. So, the EU can play a key role in shortening and termination of the present global economic recession, WTO published.
Money from milk are missing for fertilizers
Farming on fields requires chemical treatment; there are not finances from animal production. Contracts regarding milk buy-out between Madeta and Mlékárenské družstvo JIH have not been signed yet. Idle months when the milk buy-out price is still below production price are borne by breeders in the region Jindřichův Hradec very heavily. “Money is missing, of course. We get by half million crowns for milk less monthly then we were used to”, a chief of the company CIZ AGRO from Cizkrajov, Jaroslav Pokorný. According to his words, the area of agriculture becomes recently rather a political affair.
Spring works on fields started with delay this year in Vysočina
Spring works on fields in Vysočina started this year at last week end which is about one or two week later than is usual in this region. Winter was long but it did not harm growths sown in the fall, obviously. As it resulted from today´s ČTK inquiry, farmers fertilize now the winter crops and start sowing. Despite last year´s decrease in buy-out prices in many commodities, a composition of crops on fields will not evidently change much. Farmers reputedly hardly look for money for purchase of fertilizers and sprays.
More than half of Czech breweries are interested in mark Czech beer
More than half of Czech breweries showed an interest to mark their product with a geographical trademark České pivo (Czech beer). A director of the Czech Beer and Malt Association Jan Veselý said it to ČTK today. According to him the mark should help Czech producers to sell beer on foreign markets. The trademark České pivo whose use the European Union approved definitively last year in October should above all to protect beer produced inland and prevent from its imitation. A brewery which is going to use this mark has to at first to ask for am approval the State Agricultural and Food Inspection.
