Compost worksgrow in Vysočina, they supply gardeners and farmers

A number of compost works increases in Vysočina. They process above all grass and other green rests. A council-houses approach to these investments because of need to decrease a volume of waste deposited on dumps. So, also compost production increases in the region. ČTK found out today that a sale network for this mass is now forming. Compost serves for recultivation of dumps and for fertilization of town parks, also gardeners and farmers start to come for it. They pay from 350 to 700 CZK for ton, according to taken amount and quality.

Farmers prepare other protests

Farmers will demonstrate again owing to problems with milk cattle. They will join to international protests against agricultural policy of the European Union on Wednesday the 29th of April. The main demonstration should take place on till this time unspecified place connected with farm estate. According to the president of Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba it should be dealt with a smaller action than the March protest in Prague. Concrete protests places and their form should be known at next week end.

EU will check keeping of tuna haul rules

The tuna could appear on the extinction limit; a tuna haul season starts on the 16th of April in six EU member states. The tuna belongs among species endangered by excessive fishing and scientists warn that it can get on the extinction limit. Therefore EU states, led by Czech presidency, agreed on strict rules of tuna haul and the fishing checks few days ago. Today, on the first day of fishing season, special guards will start to check fishing vessels in the Mediterranean Sea and the East Atlantic. The checks should secure so that vessels from France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Malta and Cyprus would not exceed quotas set by Brussels.

Low wood prices damage us

Forest owners complain about the state enterprise Lesy České republiky which still increases harvest and keeps prices down. Forest owners battle with an extremely burdensome financial situation. Owing to the economic crisis prices of wood – their main incomes inflow - intensively decrease. According to entrepreneurs, nor the state enterprise Lesy České republiky help the situation – it still increases harvest, so, prices for wood species cannot grow. “The situation is critical”, owners claim, and they urge the state to pay financial compensations.
