G8: Fear of lack of foods will persist
Fear concerning security of food sufficiency for developing countries will persist owing to insufficient progress in fight against poverty and problems in harmonization of supply and demand. According to the agency Reuters it results from a communiqué proposal from a meeting of ministers of agriculture of a group of the industrially most developed states and Russia (G8) in Italy. A final version of the communiqué should be published on Monday. Ministers of agriculture negotiate in Italy about a strategy for security of food supplies and their prices stabilization. “We want leave this meeting with concrete facts, not only with words”, Italian Minister of Agriculture Luca Zaia declared.

Accession in the EU increase farmers´ profit, however, they want equal conditions
Czech agriculture is profitable thanks subsidies from the accession of CR in the EU; in years before the accession it was altogether loss-making. However, representatives of agrarian organizations point out in the long term unequal subsidy conditions for particular EU states. Farmers from old member countries take more money than their colleagues in new member states; nevertheless, markets in the new countries are free for them. Unequal subsidy conditions should be arranged in 2013. “Agriculture was the only sector which after the accession in the European Union did not have and still does not have comparable conditions for enterprise”, a chairman of the Agricultural Union of the Czech Republic Miroslav Jirovský said already earlier.
