Government approved amendment of act on seed and seedlings circulation

At its Monday negotiation it agreed an amendment of act on seed and seedling circulation. An aim of the presenting proposal is achievement of a compliance with EU legal regulations in the area of introduction in circulation of seed and seedlings, especially in introduction in seed circulation of varieties important from a view-point of maintenance of genetic plant resources. The approved amendment of act on seed and seedling circulation of grown plants defines some new terms as for example a regional variety, a conserved variety, preservation of genetic material in its natural environment, and especially it sets conditions for introduction in circulation of seed of preserved varieties.

Farmers obstructed Berlin with tractors, government promised them relieves

Roughly 6000 demonstrating farmers from all the Germany and 700 their tractors obstructed thoroughfares in the center of Berlin yesterday. At the demonstration organized by a German Farmers Union, the farmers complained about expensive fuels and low buy-out prices of their products. The federative government promised them a simplification of approach to credits and an enlargement of tax relieves. German farmers paralyzed a transport on thoroughfares aimed at a large roundabout around the Victory Column in the center of metropolis. The protest was participated by breeders of dairy cattle and pigs as well as cereal and fruit growers.

7th round of reception of application of Rural Development Program starts

In the period from the 9th to 29th of June, applicants will be able to submit projects for the measure Addition of value to agricultural and food products, Land adjustments, Other special education and information activity, Support of travel movement, Local action group, Realization of local development strategy, and Realization of cooperation projects. On the 7th May, the Minister of Agriculture approved the reception of application for the measure of the 7th round of Rural Development Program which will take place in a term from the 9th to 29th of June by 13 o´clock in appropriate regional departments of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund.

To heat with biomass it is very expensive hobby

Biomass prices fly up. People are already planning how they will heat with brown coal in furnaces for tens of thousands. High prices of biomass force them to one. They will burn again coal. They wanted to behave ecologically, so they heat with biomass. However, the growing prices force them to look for a way unfriendly to the environment. One of such “the afflicted” is a village teacher Tomáš Zahradníček. He heats up his house in a village Miličín between Tábor and Votice with an automatic furnace for biomass. Even this winter he burnt in his furnace mainly wood pellets. However now, as he says, he will probably switch to heating with brown coal.
