Milk product of year is cheese Sedlčanský Romadůžek
A winner of company Milk product of the year is ripening cheese Sedlčanský Romadůžek from Povltavksé mlékárny Sedlčany (dairy works). Jiří Kropáček from the Bohemian-Moravian Dairy Industry Union (ČMSM) informed ČTK on it yesterday. The seventh year of the competition, whose results were published officially today in frame of celebrations of the World Milk Day in Prague Břevnov Monastery, took place with participation of in total 43 products from 16 Czech dairy works. All participating products were placed on the market from the beginning of last year´s April to the end of this year´s March.
Specialists discussed crisis in forestry branch
Last week, the Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) in cooperation with the Agricultural Committee of the Chamber of Deputies organized a special workshop whose topics were an economic crisis in the sector of forestry management, specifics of award of public contracts in forestry management, and a draft regulation of the European Parliament and the Council which determines duties of economic subjects placing wood and wooden products on the market. The workshop was opened by the Minister of Agriculture Jakub Š ebesta and was participated by members of the Agricultural Committee, parlamentarians, representatives of departmental organizations and skilled public.
Inquiry: Czechs buy less foods owing to crisis this year
Owing to an economic crisis, the Czech buy less foods; however, incomes of businessmen from this goods slightly increased. It results from an inquiry by a company Nielsen according to which a growth rate of sale of high-speed turnover good slowed down this year. The economic crisis arrived at the Czech Republic in the last year´s end and forced many Czech enterprises to reduce production and reduce staff. Therefore, the Czech started to be more careful in shopping. Petr Kouble from the company Nielsen said to ČTK that in retail shops with food and composite goods this year from January to April, a volume of food sale decreased year-on-year by 0,8 percents.
Czech bio-chicken comes on Czech shelves
On Wednesday the 27th of May, a company Biopark, a processing firm of an agricultural association Spojené farmy (United Farms) placed biochicken meat originating from Czech ecological farms on a retail network. Biochickens will be able to get in more than 70 chosen shops of trade chains Billa, Hypernova and INTERSPAR for 199 CZK/kg. It is dealt with the first Czech biochicken which will be readily available in the retail network for a very favourable sale price which should move about 200 CZK/kg.
