New management of Lesy ČR already in full team

A general manager of the state enterprise Lesy České Republiky has finished formation of a new management of the firm. Zdeněk Sýkora, who had hold an office of economic manager with a competency for business till this time, was appointed in a function of business manager. A new economic manager is now Michal Gaube. At the same time the firm has a new press agent who is Michal Kačena. „By these changes I finished the formation of the top management team with which I count in realization of necessary changes in the structure and business policy of the firm“, the general manager of LČR Svatopluk Sýkora told.

EU wants to stop fall of olive-oil prices

The European Commission wants to stop a fall of olive-oil prices. Therefore it put forward a proposal so that olive-oil producers would get a financial aid for private storage of extra virgin oil and virgin oil. This measure should be in force for 180 days and maximally for a volume 110 000 tons of oil. The reason is a significant decrease in olive-oil prices on markets in the European Union. Since the beginning of economic year 2008/2009 olive-oil prices have continually decreased.

Russia wants to be self-sufficient in pig meat production

After 2012 Russia would not any longer want to import pig meat in the country. This intention was announced by the first vice-premier of Russian government for agricultural and food industry affairs Viktor Zubkov. Domestic production should have annually increases by minimally 200 000 tons by 2012. To this intention now a relevant branch program is prepared, an agrarian press service AIZ cited a message of the vice-premier. Only throughout last two years, 250 large agricultural enterprises specialized for pig fattening were modernized with the help of financial means from the state budget which enabled an increase of production approximately by 500 000 tons of pig meat.

Explosion danger in enterprises processing cereals

In The Research Institute for Feed Technology of the institute IFF in Brauschweig-Thun, a a research project was solved whose results can help to improve explosion prevention. About 50 organic materials were analyzed used as components in feed production (cereals, legumes, seeds, dried by-products from feed and food industry, vitamin and mineral mixtures and so on.); from many points of view, including creation of dust in manipulation (incidence of strokes and shearing forces). The obtained values, which are relative, are placed in a database. In frame of the project, a methods developed on base of photometric determination of extinction can be used in practice for characterization of a mixture of dust and air.
