In France there is agreement on average milk price for 2009, however, protests continue

The French Minister of Agriculture and a new Euro-representative, Mr. Michael Barnier declared a week ago: “The milk crisis does not end”. This despite the fact that representatives of milk producers and dairy-works in France agreed on an average milk price for the year 2009 and on conditions of determination of milk price in the future on the 3rd of June 2009. This newly negotiated basic milk price is set from June between 260 and 280 € for 1000 liters of milk. Producers asked more, dairy works on the contrary less (210 €). (Just the minister Barnier had a fundamental influence on closure of the agreement. He committed himself in the matter after three weeks of public protests of milk producers all over the country.)
