Presidency passed successfully coordination regime and evaluation of risk analyses of harmful plant organisms

The presidency reached an approval of coordination rules and risk analyses of harmful plant organisms and thereby at the same time also a fulfillment of one of its significant priorities in a phytosanitary area. The rules determine unified procedures for all at the present time carried out operations in the area of evaluation and management of risk of harmful plant organisms at the level of European Union. An effort was to anchor procedurally all the process of treatment with documents of risk analysis and, hereat, to respect the existing legal framework and availability of resources in the EU.

Incomes of Lesy ČR from hunting grounds should increase by 11 pct to 158 mil. CZK

Incomes from leases of hunting grounds of the state enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR) should increase, against the present state, by about 11 percents to 158 million crowns yearly. The increase in income is connected especially with a transfer of original cost hunting grounds in administration of the enterprise into a lease. Now, the firm chose new renters for 46 hunting grounds for a total yearly rent 16 million crowns. A spokesman of LČR Michal Kačena said it to ČTK today. LČR presented before that they had high costs with cost hunting grounds, therefore, they want to reduce their number.

With plant extracts and bacterium against Colorado beetle

Ecological farmers can apply only biological preparations for plant treatment, but not chemical ones. There are available several bio-preparations for prevention against Colorado beetle of which these four were tested in experiments: Neem oil: An effect of substances contained in neem oil, which obstruct pest fattening, farmers in a part of Asia and Africa know from of old. At beginning of 70´s of the last century it was found out that azadirachtin influences insect metamorphosis and disturbs the exuviation of insect cuticula or it leads to creation of dwarfish wings.

Czech saves on beer, they prefer cheapest bottle

The economic crisis changes long-term customs of Czech beer-drinkers. The result is lower takings in pubs and breweries. A chief of the Czech Beer and Malt Association (ČSPS) Jan Veselý announced yesterday that from January to May the beer production decreased by four percents in the Czech Republic. Except the crisis the cause is also colder May weather and a lower number of tourists who substantially helped with consumption in last years in the Czech Republic.
