Farmers blocked roads and handed out rolls and yoghurt
Farmers protests against low milk buy-out prices have already finished on most of Czech territory. Forty trucks and cars behung with national flags, black flags and slogan banners blocked transport on the road I/20 Pilsen – Karlovy Vary on Monday morning. North-Pilsen farmers joined in this way to the national-wide protests against growing milk buy-out prices and killing of cows. There were hundred-meter convoys behinds their trucks and cars and farmers heard out unscrupulous swear-words as well as expressions of sympathy. The nerve-wracking situation for drivers was on a round-about near a hypermarket Globus.
Vine-Growers Union of CR wants EU to maintain ban of outplanting of new vineyards
The Vine-Growers Union of the CR will promote maintaining of a ban of outplanting of new vineyards in coming election period of the European Parliament. According to a secretary of the Union, martin Potůček, southern states, above all Italy, will push to enlargement of vineyard areas. However, at the time when the EU subsidizes vineyard cutting it would be nonsense, so that it would allow their new outplanting from 2015, Potůček said to ČTK today.According to Potůček Italians enforced a release already in a last reform of viticultural policy. In a document, where in the end a ban of sweetening by beet sugar refused by the Czech Republic did not appear, they enforced an approval of some illicit outplanted vineyards.
Food and material aid to afflicted areas
From Friday the 26th of June, the Agrarian Chamber of the CR (AK ČR) assembles pieces of information from farmers from afflicted areas and found out what is needed the most. At time of floods there is mostly lack of feed for farm animals. Therefore the president of AK ČR Jan Veleba instructed all directors of regional and district agrarian chambers to find out in agricultural enterprises and in private farmers in the afflicted areas what is acutely needed so that others can immediately club for deliveries of feed, bedding etc. At the same time the first money are collected on the account for the afflicted.
Added value tax in projects of statutory subjects in the 5th round of PRV will be covered by state
VAT for projects of statutory subjects submitted in the 5th round of reception of applications for a subsidy within the Rural Development Program of the CR 2007 – 2013 will be covered by the state although it still remains an incompetent expenditure from a view-point of EU legislative. The Ministry of Agriculture made other accommodating step to mitigation of impacts of a financial crisis. “From a view-point of an applicant the regime will be the same as in last rounds, before than a discrepancy was revealed in a translation of Rules and than the European Commission definitively decided that the VAT will not be an recognizable expenditure”, the Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta explains.
