Wood engraver outbreak damages Czech forests by raid; foresters prepare for crisis

The state enterprise Lesy České Republiky (LČR) owing to a wide wood engraver calamity adopted record-wide measures this year. A number of traps and catchers will be considerably increased. Foresters believe that thanks to them they will be able to manage the situation. A head of department of forest management and conservation of nature of LČR, Ladislav Půlpán said it to journalists today. LČR owns a half of forests in the country. Lesy ČR owing to a danger of calamity in forests distributed about 370  000 so called traps while last year it was 210 000. Also a number of catchers increased. There are 58 000 in forests now, last year it was 50 600 pieces.

From August Operation Program Environment offers other eight billion for projects in area of energetics and wastes

From Monday, the 3rd of August, the state fund Environment of CR will receive already the eleventh wave of applications for a support of projects which will improve the environment. Subsidies from the Operational Program Environment (OPE) are determined in this invitation for projects in the area of sustainable use of energy resources, improvement of waste treatment and removal of old ecological burdens. Two of seven priority axes of the OPE will be opened, the priority axe 3 – concentrated n sustainable use of energy resources, and the priority axe 4 – improvement of waste treatment and removal of old ecological burdens.

CSO: Meat production and milk purchase again decreased year-on-year

Meat production decreased by 7,1 percents to 141,375 tons in the second quarter year-on-year. Production of beef, pig and poultry meat decreased. Milk buyout decreased by 1,5 percents to almost 600 million liters of milk. It results from today´s data of the Czech Statistic Office. In the second quarter the year-on-year fall in prices of agricultural milk producers continued. An average milk price of the highest quality class decreased year-on-year by 33,9 percents. Milk was bought for an average price 6,09 crowns for liter.

Bio-waste separation should decrease payments

Bio-food waste represent more than a third of communal waste. Therefore there is a legislative pressure on separation and its higher use. Residents of Vlašim can already separate the bio-waste. Besides containers for paper, plastic and glass, also twenty hundred liters containers for biological wastes arrived. A council house in Vlašim approached to solution of this decomposable waste, which ended till now on a dump as a communal waste even if it could be used further for example after composting as a fertilizer.
