Number of ecological farmers grows in the Czech Republic
Despite the fact, absolute majority of sold bio-foods come from abroad. A number of ecological farmers in the CR increased almost by a half to 1946 farms last year. Eco-farmers managed on more than eight percents of agricultural land last year. The most bio-foods, in total for 1,332 billion crowns, was bought by the Czech in shops of retail chains. It is by 461 million crowns more than in 2007.
Profit of firm Linea Nivnice decreased almost by third to 20,6 mil CZK
A net profit of a firm Linea Nivnice producing fruit beverages decreased by almost third to 20,6 million crowns last year. Takings of the company were roughly 1,063 billion crowns and they decreased only slightly year-on-year. ČTK found the information in an annual report published in a trade register. Linea Nivnice is the biggest inland fruit processor and producers of fruit beverages. Its share on Czech market was 34,3 percents last year. A bearing production program of the firm is fruit juices, nectars and beverage which share in its turnover in two thirds.
Chains with spoilt meal on shelves will be revealed by scale
Where to buy fresh pastry and bread, fruit and vegetable or quality confectionary? Which trade chains in the Czech Republic care-take a quality, hygiene and stocking of products and which belong vice versa among the worst sinner? The answer should be provided by an evaluation of trade chains which the State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) plans to publish at beginning of the next year. Quality, stocking, marking and hygiene. These are the main points which will decide about the best and the worse trade chains in the Czech Republic.
Farmers in South Moravia have already harvested third of cereals
South-Moravian farmers have already harvested about a third of areas with cereals and almost all rape. The present average of hectare yields confirms, meanwhile, pre-harvest estimations according to which this year´s harvest will be less against the last year. The Statistic Office and farmers expected yields lower year-on-year by as much as fifth; meanwhile, in cereals they are lower roughly by 15 percents. ČTK found out it from actual data of the Agrarian Chamber on internet sites www.kisjmk.cz.
