Imports and lower milk product consumption spoil sale to dairy works

According to an estimation of the Czech Dairy Industry Union, milk products consumption will probably not increase this year. Rather other decrease in sale can be expected, same as last year. a director of the Union, Michal Němec said to ČTK at a press conference to a Dairy Industry Day in Přibyslav. According to him, also increasing imports spoil sale to Czech dairy works. For example a volume of imported Edam cheeses from Poland and Germany was higher almost by 70 percents in this year´s first half-year.

SZPI withhold delivery of teas from China containing forbidden herbs

The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) in cooperation with Liberec customs officers withhold a delivery of teas from China containing for food forbidden herbs. Composition of two mixtures of black tea and herb according to label contained herbs with a pharmacologic effect. The Inspection did not let go the delivery in a circulation, therefore there is no danger for consumers, Petra Hoferková from SZIP said to ČTK. One of the mixtures contained leaves from Cassia angustifolia, the second mixture for pressure relief a herb Apocynum spp.

Enterprises Kostelecké uzeniny and Maso Planá prepare fusion

Enterprises Kostelecké uzeniny and Maso Planá belonging to a group Agrofert prepare a fusion of both companies under a new common director. By the connection a firm will come into being with annual takings about six billion crowns. One of first steps in this process will be an appointment of common management of both enterprises and changes in directorship which will have the same personal occupation for both the firms. ČTK was acquainted with it by a general director of the firms Pavel Kváč in a press release.

Cotton in increase

During Tuesday trading on the change ICE Futures, a cotton price got on three-week maximum when weakening of exchange rate of American dollar and a positive development on other commodity markets helped to the price growth. A Dollar Index monitoring a development of exchange rate of American currency towards a basket of six currencies got on eleven-month minimum.
