Zahrada Čech announces record 40 thousand visitors

A nice weather in the last summer weekend attracted a record number of visitors at a fairground Zahrada Čech (Garden of Bohemia) – almost 40 thousand – which regarding three vintages taking place in near Litoměřice surrounding – Velké Žernoseky, Roudnice and Mělník – was a very nice result. It shows evidence of a very good renown of the fairground, a manifold offer of assortment, and a fair consultancy and a supporting program with participation of experts from gardening, fruit growing, vegetable growing branches and recently also bee-keeping. The Saturday was the Day of Fruit Growing Union of CR, the Vegetable Growing Union of Bohemia and Moravia, which especially visitors of a pavilion A got to know where representatives of both the Unions and their member organizations acquainted interested persons with their work results and they offer them a tasting of not only treated products but also of their products.

Politicians are not interested in land tenants

Representatives and senators refused to sell a state land to Czech and Moravian farmers. Such a sentence can summarize a result of three-year process of preparation and negotiation of an amendment of law No. 95/1999 Col., on conditions of transition of agricultural and forest lands from the state ownership to other persons, simply a law on sale of state agricultural land. Both the Land Fund of the CR (PF ČR) as a vendor and agricultural entrepreneurs as buyers called for updating of the law. A Commission Land nominated by a former Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič compound of representatives of all agricultural non-governmental organization, PF ČR and the Ministry of Agriculture of the CR, worked on the version of the amendment of law more than a year.

Eco-farms in Vysočina stans up to crisis better than traditional farmers

Eco-farms in Vysočina stand up to an economic crisis a bit better than traditional farmers , though they also have to cope with a decrease in prices of their products. A demand for bio-foods still lasts; an advantage of organically managing farms is also higher subsidies, Tomáš Klejzar from a regional center of the union PRO-BIO said to ČTK today. At the end of last year, 114 eco-farms were in the region and their number still increases. Also number of operations for bio-foods production grows. “In connection with the economic crisis the growth of demand for bio-foods probably slowed down but it is still evident”, Klejzar told.

It has not been decided on use of 800 million crowns for support of milk production yet

As lately as a consultation with the European Commission on a use of part of subsidies originally determined for a support of agricultural production (SAPS) ends the Ministry of Agriculture will decided on the use of the money. In an interview for Mediafax it was mentioned by Petr Vorlíček, a spokesman of the ministry. Within an exchange rate conversion 25,50 crowns to Euro, according to his worlds, it should be dealt with 800 million crowns. The Ministry will obtain these financial means by cutting of direct payments (subsidies for support of production) by 3,5 percents. According to article 68 of EU regulation, the money can be used according to a will of particular states for other purposes than only for direct payments.
