FAO: It is necessary to invest 83 bil. USD yearly in developing countries

It is necessary to invest about 83 billion dollars (c. 1,45 trillion CZK) in agriculture of developing countries yearly, if there should be enough food for all inhabitants of the planet in 2050. It was presented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of UNO today. According to the present assumptions, about 9,1 billion people will live in the world in 2050. The mentioned sum assumes that roughly 20 billion dollars yearly will be invested in plant production and about 13 billion dollars are counted on for animal production. The organization presented it in a report before a planned meeting which will take place on the 12th and 13th of October and just the question how to satisfy all population in 2050 will be discussed.

New countries will debate uneven conditions in agriculture in May in Prague

At the 36th meeting of V-4 representatives and observer countries of Ukraine in Poprad in Slovakia, above all two the most burning questions were solved during two days. The first one is still persisting uneven conditions for farmers in old and new member states of the EU, and the second point was low prices of milk which liquidate numbers of cows in Europe. “Representatives of Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic agree on that the uneven conditions between old and new EU members states are still only discussed over and over and nothing happens for a redress” , Jan Veleba, the president of Agrarian Chamber of the CR, told.

Breeding of meat cattle on PGG is hobby

Even these words sounded at the last common negotiation of the Breeder Union and a commodity council for milk and beef meat at the Agrarian Chamber. Not only this fact etches in in which way a group of breeders of cattle without market milk production after twenty years in our republic. Instead of breeders of meat cattle would be taken as an example how it is possible to get on the world top at a relatively short time and be recognized even among the most advantaged breeder countries in all the world, they get a nickname hobby breeders who maybe should not have a possibility to express their opinion to actual questions let alone to take some finances for these activities.

According to NKU means of state budget and EU were allotted and used in conformity wit set rules

These days, the Supreme Control Office (NKU) published results of its control action focused on projects realized in frame of sub-measure of the Rural Development Program LEADER+ in the period from the 1st of May 2004 to the 30th of June 2008 when almost 195 million crowns were paid off. NKU checked almost 20 % of these expenditures. The check took place from August 2008 to March 2009 and besides the monitored period from May 2004 to June 2009 included, in case of matter-of-fact connections, also the period foregoing or the following.
