Prices on Corn exchange stagnate, feeding pea raised in price the most

After several months of slight decrease, the Corn exchange in Brno recorded stagnation or a slight increase in prices of most commodities. Owing to higher demand, prices of feeding wheat and feeding pea raised the most since the last exchange séance two weeks ago. On the contrary, price decrease continues in corn which cheapened by 575 crowns per ton from the end of holiday. A general secretary of the Exchange Karel Zezula said it to ČTK today. Prices of agricultural commodities decreased regularly since the start of this year´s harvest which brought year-on-year a low yields and worse quality of cereals.

New agricultural policy should solve also climatic changes

From a working version of a proposal of common agricultural policy reform, in which EurActiv had an opportunity to look, it results that a fight with climatic changes can very easily project in a way of agricultural support. In the future, agricultural subsidies could be conditional on providing of such “public estates” as biodiversity, or on use of “sustainable” agricultural procedures.

Farmers specify: The will pour out half a million of milk on Thursday

Farmers from the region Zlín will pour our a half of their daily production on fields, i.e. 16 thousand liters of milk. In the region Blansko, as many as 25 thousand liters of milk will end on fields. The Thursday protest of farmers who raise against low input milk prices, gets more specific outlines. On Thursday, farmers will pour out half a million liters of milk in total at least at eight places in the CR. A president of the Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba said it to journalists on Tuesday. According to him, farmers will specify the number of places today afternoon.

Fall in cotton price continue

A slight decrease in the price was recorded in frame of a trade séance on the change ICE Futures U.S. in the most active December futures contract for cotton. Although there is still a real danger of damage on American crop owing to excessive rainfalls, these fears were balanced by news about strengthening American dollar in frame of yesterday´s trade séance owing to which the demand for American oversea cotton reserves could decrease. After a dollar value towards Euro touched the lowest level since August last year, it strengthened by 1,1 %.
