Stress subserves to verticillium wilt of potatoes

Verticillium wilt (potato early dying) appeared for the first time in some potato growths in this year´s season. A fungi, Verticillium albo-atrum, causes mostly a center-occurring sudden ripening. A typical symptom is yellowing appearing at first on bottom leaves, mostly only on one side. In bulbs, the attack can show itself by brown-coloured vascular bundles. Causes of the wilt are various. Nevertheless, it is necessary to respect guides.

Chamber of Deputies voted down pocket veto of amendment of act on environment Impact assessment

A reaction of the Minister of Environment Jan Dusík on today´s voting down of the pocket veto of an amendment of act on environment impact assessment: “ I am pleased with today´s constructive decision of the Chamber of Deputies which voted down unfortunate pocket veto and approved a brief but significant amendment of act on Environment Impact Assessment (EIA). The novel is necessary reaction on proceedings against the Czech Republic at the European Law Court owing to incompatibility of the present law on EIA with European legislative which takes place already since 2006.

Minister of Agriculture appointed new management of horse breeding-farm in Kladruby

A new director of the National stud in Kladruby nad Labem, s.p. became Ing. Jan Höck on the 1st of December 2009. The Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta also appointed a director of the state allowance organization National stud Kladruby nad Labem – Ing.Antonín Němec. A pivotal task of the new management will be transition of the stud in Kladruby from the present legal form of state enterprise on allowance organization and re-processing of application for a subsidy from the Integrated Operational Program so that it would be possible to draw European means for revitalization of the stud in as short term as possible.
