Land Fund has finished check of restitution claim evaluation

The Land Fund has realized an in-depth check of restitution claim evaluation in scope of its Prague workplace. From the check it resulted that the claim evaluation proceeding was not in accordance with internal regulations because a part of the evaluation was not supported with relevant documents. In 129 cases of 2 578 in total substantial irregularities were detected. In total, 2 578 regulations were examined, 1 694 of them were without faults. Inadequacies were found out in 884 documents but only 129 decisions of cases with over-valued claim were found as serious.

Konopa: Areas with hemp decreased hard, the are only 200 ha this year

Czech acreages of technical hemp significantly decreased in recent years and their current acreage is less than 200 hectares. So, the area of hemp fields is roughly the same as ten years ago when technical hemp growing started in the Czech Republic. Michal Ruman from a civil association Konopa, which strains after renewal of growing and processing of industrial hemp as an important domestic raw material, said it to journalists today.

Higher intensity of corn growing makes for worsening of quality of underground water

an enlargement of corn growing influence negatively the quality of underground waters. It is documented by American scientists on base of analyses of underground waters in the state Indiana. Till this time in the USA, corn has been generally grown in rotation with soya. An enlargement of corn growing and thereby continuing reduction of soya growing caused strengthening of land erosion. “A change of rotation of corn – soya in corn monoculture increases sedimentation losses”, Indrajeet Chaubey, a docent at the University Purdue claims, “and thereby more remains of nutrients and pesticides get in water systems”.

Survey: Czech buy meat and meat smoked products more often in supermarkets

The Czechs buy meat and meat smoked products n supermarkets and hypermarkets more often than in foregoing years, vice versa preference of specialized shops with meat and meat smoked products decreased after several growth years. It results from a survay of a company Incoma GfK which was published in a journal Moderní obchod. While 44 percents of the Czech spent the most money in butchery and in meat and meat smoked products shops last year, a share of these specialized shops decreased to 39 percents this year. On the other hand, popularity of supermarkets increased from 9 % last year to 12 percents and hypermarket preferences remained on 29 percents.
