Minister of Agriculture approved national endowment principles 2010 in height 1,1 billion crowns

The Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta approved principles which will enable an access of farmers to 1 100 million crowns in frame of agricultural endowment programs for 2010. These principles are use in administration of endowment programs and their approval crowns the whole legislative process of so called national subsidies. The proposal of financial means determined for the endowment programs for 2010 stems from the total financial limit in height of 1 100 mil. CZK, respectively 850 mil. CZK of endowments for non-investment subsidies and 250 mil. CZK for making of long-term tangible property (capital expenditures).

Inquiry: Share of people who buy bio-foods decreases in Czech Republic

Recently, a share of people who buy bio-foods has decreased in the Czech Republic. Their Czech consumption grew vehemently in last years, however, experts expect that owing to the economic crisis the growth of incomes from bio-food sale slowed down significantly. Generally, bio-foods are more expensive than common foods. An analyst Zdeněk Skála from a company Incoma GfK stated in the last copy of journal Moderní obchod (Modern trade) referring to a research Shopping Monitor that while 33 percent of customers bought bio-foods in 2007, the year before last it was only 30 percents and 28 percent last year.

Farmers go against themselves, chains states

According to the Business Union, the law on significant market power is populist, unnecessary and harms most of participants of supplier chains. Businessmen refuse farmers´ protest, which are prepared by farmers in front of hypermarkets owing to reputedly discriminatory and blackmailing practices of large chains in March, as populist and false.Meat and milk product suppliers complain that they are forced to sell their products to hypermarkets for loss making prices. And if they stay against and do not decrease supplier prices for example by so called “shelf-fee”, they simply loose any chance in markets.

Austrian dairy-works called consumers not to eat its cheeses

Owing to a suspicion about a possible contain of dangerous bacteria Listeria, Austrian dairy-works Prolactal called consumers not to eat its cheese (tvarůžky) which they had bought already earlier and have them at home. The agency APA wrote it today. The products were sold also in the Czech Republic. The case of cheeses which could contain Listeria raises big attention in Austria and Germany. According to the dairy-works, the cheeses (tvarůžky) and mould cheese with the mark Reinhardshof were sold in the chain Lidl in the Czech Republic. It called costumers not to eat these products, too. They can bring them back in shops. According to APA, also a product Bánovecké syrečky with paprika or without it were sold in the shops in the CR and in Slovakia.
