Directory of box systems is being prepared

Organizations dealing with a promotion of organic agriculture want to create an electronic database of so called box systems of food sale and bio-clubs associating bio-food customers by the middle of April. The information was brought by a server biospotřebitel.cz. An interest mainly in sale of seasonal vegetable and fruit from growers directly to customers, popular for many years in western countries, increases in the Czech Republic, too.

Public express its opinion to future of Czech agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture prepares a material “Visions of Czech agriculture after 2010 ”. In order to the wide public be able to participate in preparation of the material, a public consultation on this topic took place on internet pages eAgri throughout April. In frame of the public consultation, 102 contributions in total were sent with which a Group for Strategic Questions in Agriculture will deal now. Respondents expressed their opinions to question of significance and a role of Czech agriculture, to its strong and weak sides, to challenges and obstructions, and to proposals for solutions.

Court will solve whether Lesy ČR had to announce selective proceedings

The Regional Court in Brno will solve again whether Lesy ČR had a duty to proceed according to the law on ordering of public commissions in selection of firms for growing and harvesting works in the past. The Office for Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) and the Regional Court in Brno came to a conclusion that Lesy ČR offended when did not order commissions in a public selective proceeding. However, the Supreme Administrative Court (NSS) obliged a complain of Lesy Hluboká na Vltavou now and cancelled the judgement of the Regional Court in Brno from the last year´s February.

Droughts in China support oil plants

Prices of soya and rape during today´s trading aims upwards after speculations had appeared in the market that droughts in south-western China could negatively influence a local crop of oil plants. Subsequently it could lead to higher imports in the country. Soya and rape are used for production of plant oils and feeds for domestic animals. China National Grain & Oils Information Center announced yesterday that the droughts in provinces Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi could decrease Chinese rape production by as many as 500 000 tonnes which is an equivalent to 3.6 % of last year´s crop.
