Number of schools which will cook from bio-foods will increase

A nation-wide research that confirmed an interest of schools in implementing of bio-foods in boarding was a part of a projects of bio-foods implementation in schools and pre-school facilities, focused on a support of bio-foods production in the Czech Republic. The project, financed from a Program of Organic Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, was opened in the autumn last year and will last till autumn 2011. A total height of support is roughly 6,5 million crowns. A realization of a project “Bio-schools” in a public commission was gained by a company Country Life. “At the rate of organically managed land, the bio-food production is still at a low level; therefore, we create tools how to change the situation”.

Rape kills hundreds of roes annually, huntsmen are helpless

Enlarging rape fields please farmers but horrify huntsmen. Owing to them hundreds of pieces of roe deer die every year. Winter rape is the first green food in spring, however, unsuitable for animals. The plant contains substances which damage liver, lungs or nervous system to roes. Than game die en masse. “It is an annual problem which grows with the area where rape is grown. It grows already during winter or in early spring and it is the only resource of green food. If roe deer pasture it in large and do not combine it with anything else, they are endangered by great health problems, even death”, a spokesman of the Bohemian-Moravian Hunting Union, Josef Pubal say.

Standpoint of Ministry of Agriculture to NKÚ check focused on fishery support

This week, NKÚ (National Control Office) published conclusions of a control action focused on a support of Czech fishery co-financed from EU means by means of operational programs Rural development and multifunctional agriculture (OP RVMZ) and Fishery. The Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) disagrees with conclusion of the control actions. For example in relation to a project RYBA DOMÁCÍ (Domestic fish) MZe is going to send a suggestion to examination of a public commission at ÚOHS which is competent to specify a possible breach. MZe has disposable relevant legal standpoints which do not identify with findings from the control protocol of NKÚ and which say that within the commissions there was any detected irregularity or breach of the law on public commissions.

South-Moravian region will support rise of new milk automats

South-Moravian region will financially support farmers who would like to sell milk to customers by means of automatic machines. Farmers can get a subsidy from 50 000 to 100 000 crowns for purchase of the automat, Vladimíra Pavlová from a press department of a regional office said to ČTK. Now, already almost two tens of automats are in the region. The region wants reputedly to increase the number to 32. The aim of subsidy is to support farmers in the region who in frame of their retail activity deliver raw dairy-works untreated milk directly to the consumer. The region promises to itself that thanks to subsidies the automats will be successfully equally distributed in the region to secure an access of as many people as possible.
