Bio-milk for price of ordinary one? You do no more recognize some bio-foods according to price

A customer reaches for milk in a shelf, however, after a while of hesitation she returns it and gives another in a basket, for the same price with a label BIO. This is possible to see more and more often in trade chains. Times of price-inaccessible bio-foods are away and some goods are only by couple crowns more expensive or comparable with common foodstuffs. However, prices are cut rather by trade chains, contrary to smaller specialized shops they have a bigger space for negotiation of discounts and they offer also cheaper private bio-marks. “It is not possible to compete with them. For example milk, trade chains can import it from Slovakia in large and sell it for twenty crowns.

Even Prague 2 prepares farmer markets

After a success of farmers market in Dejvice their organization was agreed also by the second town district. Councilmen decided on Tuesday that they would rent for this purpose a part of Náměstí Míru. A representative of a chief magistrate, Václav Vondrášek (ODS) said it to journalists today. Markets will take place on the 18th of June there. Even if the councilmen agreed the market sale of farm products of farmers from Prague surrounding, they would like to place them in other part of Prague 2 in the future. “Náměstí Míru should not be a market place. It has rather a spiritual or meeting meaning”, Vondrášek told. As a more suitable part he sees for example Vltava riverside or Charles Square.

Useful changes happens in Rural Development Plan

A monitoring committee of the Rural Development Plan (RDP) negotiated possibilities of further reduction of administrative burden and acceleration of spending of European means. The committee also dealt also with changes of measures that will occur already in reception of applications for planned summer round. Other program point was a prepared autumn round of reception of applications and an actual question of height of engagements of the recently closed 9th round of receiving. The RDP monitoring committee dealt mainly with simplification of administration of the program measures.

13 Czech products will be introduce at trade fair

This year, the Czech Republic will introduce itself as a partner country at a trade fair Slow Food 2010 which starts in Stuttgart on Thurdsay. At an event marked as “a fair of good tastes”, 13 Czech regional firms will present their production. They will offer to visitors original natural products, traditional Czech bread and pastry, Moravian wine, beer from small breweries, and a stay in spas. “The fair is wonderful because it is tasty and fragrant environment. Visitors and participants are interested vividly in the production”, Lenka Výborná said on behalf of organizers of Czech participation to ČTK. Last year, 12 Czech exhibitors presented themselves at the trade fair.
