CSO: Price has raised most in apples in last two weeks, by tenth

In recent two weeks, the price has raised the most significantly in shops in apples, almost by 11 percents. The price of paprika and white bread and pastry has raised by more than five percents. On the contrary, customers have paid less for roast pork with bone, Edam cheese and wheat flour. It results from data published by the Czech Statistic Office today. Apples were sold to the 20th of April at average for 25.36 crowns per kilogram, so by 2.44 crowns more than two weeks ago.

Senate approved new rules of water law

A better protection against pollution, as much as five-million fines, new rules for water-management works and thair approval and for a dispose of water are brought by a new amendment of eater law approved by the Senate today. The amendment counts also on that licences to operate small water power stations would be issued by the office for at least 30 years. If the owner asks for it, the office will prolong them for the same time.

Honey production can be higher than last year; weather favours bees for the present

This years production of honey could be higher than the last year´s one. Maximally ten percents of bee colonies do not survive the winter; a health state of breedings is good. A secretary of the Czech Bee-keepers Union Miroslav Peroutka said it to ČTK today. However, the real height of crop will depend on weather development in next months. Last year´s production of roughly 6  900 tons of honey belongs from long-term point of view to the average. This year´s weather is convenient to bee-keepers. Bee-colonies prosper from the long winter with subsequent fast start of spring.

Investment in cotton pays off

Investors, who were so lucky and succeeded to buy cotton in September 2008 (bottom), can celebrate. The commodity has increased in value during 17 months by 110 percents. It has grown by 9.6 percents since this year beginning. In recent days, cotton is supported by many new fundamental factors which push the price on new several-month maximum. From a view-point of technical analysis, cotton put through March resistance and grows on. The commodity potential has not still had to be spent yet. Actual news from the cotton world made investors to purchases. India, which is the second biggest cotton growers in the world, stopped exports of the commodity to support home supply and to help to decrease prices.
