Products from Czech-Saxon Switzerland can obtain regional mark

A process of engagement of Czech-Saxon Switzerland in a system of regional marks culminated on the 4th of May by approval of logo and principles for the regional mark award. A regional coordinator of the mark CZECH-SAXON SWITZRLAND (ČESKOSASKÉ ŠVÝCARSKO) regional product is a not-for-profit organization Czech Switzerland with a seat in Krásná Lípa. The mark covers not only all the tourist region Czech Switzerland but thanks to partnership with German national park Sächsische Schweiz also almost double territory in German side of border.

New important platform in hunting branch

At a meeting of the Executive Council of the Union of Subjects Interested in Hunting of the Czech Republic (further only “USZM ČR), which took place on Friday, April 9, 2010 in Prague, a several-year process of building of a common platform of subjects, which are interested in any way in hunting branch, was crowned. At the meeting, USZM ČR was definitively established and approved, all organs were elected, and basic initial principles for further activity were discussed. USZM ČR developed by transformation of the Union of Hunting Organization of the CR (further only UMO ČR) where it was necessary owing to an interest of other non-hunting subjects in the membership and mainly in cooperation to change “Statute” and to adjust the whole system of functioning of the new groupment.

Employment in agriculture in EU has decreased by quarter over nine years

Still few and few people work in agriculture in the European Union. Employment decreased by 25 percents in this sector in the block between years 2000 – 2009 which corresponds roughly to 3.7 million full-time work places. The numbers were announced by the European Statistic Office (Eurostat). One of the biggest falls, which moves in the EU from three to 55 percents, was recorded in Slovakia. In this direction, it is on the third place regarding to a fall by 43 percents. Higher numbers were recorded only in Estonia with a fall of employments in agriculture by 55 percents and Bulgaria with a decrease by 48 percents.

Bio-bakery Zemanka increases its turnover

Data about a Czech bio-food producer with a leading position in a segment of biscuits and crackers. A bio-bakery Zemanka, Czech bio-food producer with a leading position in a segment of biscuits and crackers reached a significant increase in turnover in 2009. The total turnover over the year 2009 reached more than 12 million crowns which represents a year-on-year accrual by 77 percents against 2008. The bio-bakery Zemanka is a smaller family bio-bakery. It produced by hand long-life sweet bio-biscuits and salt bio-crackers. It bakes purely from certificated bio-raw materials and does not use any white refined sugar, artificial hardened fats, chemical preservers, artificial colourings or flavours in the production.
