Wheat at beying expected new harvest

The biggest fall in price over last three weeks was recorded by the most active July futures wheat contract in frame of yesterday´s business seance on the stock market Chicago Board of Trade. The cause is expectation of growth of global wheat offer this year and news about favourable weather in the USA which raised expectation of higher yields. According to American Ministry of Agriculture (USDA), global wheat reserves will have reached to the 31st of May 195.8 million of metric tonnes, by 19 % more than in the same period last year. A harvest in southern area of the Great Plains in the USA should start at beginning of June.

Food inspection found out two products with undeclared allergens in trade network

The State Agricultural and Food Inspection forbade to set afloat two products which did not have declared sulphure dioxide, which both the products contained, on the wrapping. Sulphure dioxide in concentrations higher than 10 milligram per kilogram of food ranks among allergens. For this reason operators have to mark clearly this allergenetic component on food wrappings so that people suffering from allergies can avoid these foodstuffs.

Producers: Liking for spread butter grows among Czechs

Spread butter (pomazánkové máslo) is still more and more popular among the Czech. last year´s production of these traditional domestic kishaw increase year-on-yearly byfifth to more than 10 600 tonnes. A chairman of the Bohemian-Moravian Dairy Industry Union, Jiří Kopáček, told it today. One CR inhabitant eats at average roughly one kilogram of this milk spread yearly. The product from culture cream and dry milk or buttermilk started to be produced for the first time 1977 in a dairy works in Liberec. Two years ago, also Choceňská mlékárna (dairy works in Choceň) started its production, too, which is the biggest inland producer now.

Information for slaughters and veterinary officer

Although it is not dealt with new information, we have the honour to remind breeders a duty resulting from the supplement II, paragraph III of European Parliament and Council (EC) Regulation No. 853/2004. It is dealt with so called Information on food chain (IFCH). It means that breeders have to send required information to a slaughter operator 24 hours before every delivery of animals, or if the slaughter operator of the breeder asks for an exception, a regional veterinary administration can allow sending IFCH even few than 24 hours in advance or at time of delivery. The State Veterinary Administration of the CR prepared for use relevant forms which can be downloaded on www.svscr.cz, in the column Veřejné zdraví - Informace o potravinovém řetězci (Public health - Information on food chain).
