Study: People who eat sausages often are endangered by heart diseases

People who eat sausages often are in higher danger of rise of heart diseases and diabetes. Vice versa, eating of untreated red meat does not increase the danger of development of these diseases. It was shown by a study of American scientists from which the agency Reuter quoted today. “People should think about what kind of meat they eat to reduce a risk of heart attack and diabetes”, Renata Michová, who led elaboration of the study, told. “Mainly, they should avoid processed meat as bacon, salami and frankfurters,” she added. In frame of the study as processed meat it was considered any meat treated by means of smoking, salting, and adding of chemical preservers.

Course of campaign Ryba domácí is evaluated successfully

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic realizes a long-term communication campaign to support consumption of fresh-water fish – RYBA DOMÁCÍ (Domestic fish) which is co-financed by the European Fishing Fund. It was started officially on the 1st of September, 2008. Its course and present results are evaluated by the Ministry as successful. The evaluation of campaign Ryba domácí is provided for the Ministry of Agriculture by an agency Ipsos Tambor. The evaluation is realized in form of quantitative and qualitative investigations of a representative sample of wide public. The evaluation conclusions are used for planning of next stages of the campaign and setting of particular tools of communication.

Rape price was endangered by President, he did not sign law

Many farmers have extra worry in these days. They started to fear for rape oil price in this year´s harvest. “It is dealt with one of crops which has been at least at the profitability level”, Zdeněk Houška, a chairman of cooperative Skalka with a seat in Lipí explained the significance of rape for farmers. Till this time it has been counted on that rape would be used in frame of bio-fuels production. However, the President Václav Klaus deny signing of the relevant law and sale of part of production “hangs in air”. Fortunately, according to Houška, contracts for buy-out of more than half of production had been already closed.

ÚOHS started to examine sale of two meat-combines to Andrej Babiš

Sale of meat-combines Krahulík – Masozávod Krahulčí and Kmotr – Masna Kroměříž to a group Agrofert Holding belonging to Andrej Babiš is under an examination of the Office for Protoction of Competition (ÚOHS) now. Agrofert Holding ask ÚOHS for an agreement on the transaction among firms whose turnover moves in billions crowns. ČTK found it out from an electronic official board of ÚOHS. Therefore, ÚOHS started an administrative procedure to this fusion on Wednesday; it has 30 days for a decision by law. If the office finds out generally some problems in the administrative procedure, for example in form of complaints of competitors, it can prolong the time-limit by four months.
