How to treat with foodstuffs in flooded areas
Water in flooded areas slowly goes down; a time of cleaning and liquidation of damages comes. The State Agricultural and Food Inspection reminds in this context principles of safe treating with food stuffs. People should not consume foods which got in direct contact with flood water because there is a high risk of microbial contamination. It is possible to use only hermetically closed foods, only cans provided that they will be carefully cleaned and disinfected. Even in this case it is necessary to pay attention to whether the can is not damaged, deformed and whether the food inside does not show sensory changes (changes of taste, colour, smell).
