Tenth reception round from Rural Development Programme

The Minister of Agriculture Ing. Jakub Šebesta approved a specification of Rules for measures for the 10th reception round from the Rural Development Programme on the 13th of May 2010. It is dealt with these measures: I.1.3. Addition of value to agricultural and food products. I.3.1. Further expert education and information activity. III.1.3. Support of travel movement. IV.1.2. Realization of local development strategy. IV.2.1. Realization of cooperation projects.

Meat production of farmers in region Zlín decreased by 12 percents

Agricultural enterprises from the region Zlín produced 3028 tonnes of meat without poultry one in the first quarter of this year; by 12.4 percent less year-on-yearly. The production decreased in beef meat, veal and pig meat. It results from information of the Czech Statistic Office. According to farmers, the cattle breeding has been already unprofitable for a longer time; farmers reduce numbers of animals or cancel them completely. The production of meat without poultry has decreased in all the country. From the year beginning to the end of March it has been produced more than 87 000 tonnes in the Czech Republic which represents a year-on-year fall by 5.3 percents.

First mushrooms have already appeared. Mushroom season promisingly starts

Spring mushrooms still prosper better. Cold nights postponed growth of summer mushrooms by about two weeks but thanks to more favourable weather finally even viscid boletuses, birch boletuses and other boletuses have appeared. The best situation is in lowlands and middle position. According to Jaroslav Landa from Czech Mycological Association, further growth of mushrooms will depend on supply of moisture and heat: „Meanwhile, there is enough humidity and temperatures do not decrease to zero“ .

Milk product of year is cheese Sedlčanský Troubelín

The cheese Sedlčanský Troubelín determined for baking in oven produced by the company Povltavské mlékárny Sedlčany became the milk product of year. A chairman of the Bohemian-Moravian Dairy Industry Union, Jiří Kropáček, announced it to ČTK. Record 30 products, nominated by 24 domestic dairy works, participated in the eight year of competition whose results were announced in frame of celebrations of the World Milk Day in Břevnovský cloister in Prague. In total, a special jury evaluated milk products in nine categories this year; also prizes of media and distribution were bestowed.
