June in game keeping and hunt

June nature is full of the young of hoofed and small game and other wild animals which merit considerateness and protection. Therefore the June is proclaimed the month of game keeping and hunt and conservation of nature. We can see fawns, roe-calves, young hares, pheasant and partridge chickens and the young of most of our songbirds. Just the young are the most exposed to predator pressure and negative action of man. Wild sows leading piglets avoid a contact with man but in case of meeting they defend hard their offspring and an careless visitor can be in danger of serious injury.

Lesy ČR earned by billion more than last year

Operating results over January to April: 1 billion 408 million crowns. Lesy České republiky has achieved an operating result in height of 1 108 billion crowns over the first four months of 2010. It is by more than 1 billion crowns higher result than over the same period last year. The operating result from the main activities of the firm (without profit from sale of real properties and from financial operations) reaches 1.2 bil. CZK, despite the fact that the enterprise has to liquidate disaster damages from the end of 2009 caused by heavy snow on growths and unusually long lying snow cover made more difficult the entry in forest and works there.

SZIP forbade meat from Poland, it contains allergen lactose

The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZIP) forbade a sale of frozen breast chicken slices from Poland. They contain lactose, milk sugar which belongs among allergens, but is not written on the packing. In Czech market it was supplied by the chain Kaufland; it has been already sold about 10 000 kilograms. Regarding a long guaranteed storage period, consumers can have them still at home. If somebody suffers from lactose allergy, he/she should not consume them, a spokeswoman of SZPI Martina Šmídtová said to ČTK today.

Government approved simplification of ecological legislative

Yesterday, the government approved a proposal for simplification of ecological laws which according to calculations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade should bring billion savings to entrepreneurs, a deputy minister of industry and trade, Erik Geuss told. According to him, the proposal will be now judged by an interdepartmental work group. Ecologists and academicians disagree with the MPO proposal. For example, the association Arnika claims that the material is not high-quality and can reduce a right of the public to information on substances damaging the environment.
