Next stage of campaign Ryba domácí

The Ministry of Agriculture of the CR evaluates the present course of the campaign RYBA DOMÁCÍ (Domestic fish) very positively. The campaign for support of fresh water fish consummation co-financed by European Fishing Fund started officially on the 1st of September, 2008 and it is planned till the end of 2011. At present, next stage of the campaign RYBA DOMÁC9 takes place – a summer barbecue. The Czech Republic is known by its longtime tradition of production fishery. Carp and other fresh water fish live in natural conditions in our country and their high quality is documented, beside other, by trademarks bestowed by the European Union.

Záhorka: This year´s cereal harvest will be worse tham last yea´s one

Owing to unfavourable weather, this year´s cereal harvest will be worse than the last year´s, Jan Záhorka from the Agrarian Chamber said to ČTK today. Owing to rain, underflooded land disallows farmers to go in fields with machines, moreover, spring crop sprout badly, especially barley. However, the last year´s harvest of cereals with 7 832 million tonnes belonged to above-average from a long-term point of view. Cereals take a half of arable land in the country. „Spring cereals are poor“, Záhorka told. He expects certainly lower yields of cereals, mainly of barley, than in the foregoing year. An extreme moisture does do good nor to other crops, for example rape.

BIO together with Billa support ACH CR

A common aim of the Agrarian Chamber of the CR (ACH CR) and chain store Billa is to increase share of domestic bio-foods in the market. The project was introduced by both organizations to journalists already for second time at a common press conference organized in the seat of ACH CR in Prague. „The Chamber decided to support openly the whole segment of ecological agriculture with a primary emphasis on support of Czech production and processing of bio-foods with the aim to help to sale and market of Czech bio-production. As a pilot projects, the cooperation and support of BIO in the chain Billa was started.

SZIF negotiated subsidies for 40.5 billion crowns last year

The State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) negotiated subsidies in agriculture in height of 40.5 billion crowns last year which was roughly by 11.5 billion year-on-yearly more. It results from an annual report of SZIF over 2009 which will be negotiated by the government on Monday. The fund is an administrator of European and national subsidies for farmers and checks their usage. The biggest share in the total expenditures belonged to direct payments, the same as in foregoing years, paid to farmers per hectare of managed area. Their height reached 25 billion crowns. Almost a fifth of supports – roughly eight billion crowns – aimed to farmers in frame of the Rural Development Programme.
