Company Bioveta increased revenues by tenth

The increase concerned purely export abroad. Audited economic results over the last year confirmed estimation of the firm from this year´s January about stagnation of revenues in the inland market. The results in the domestic markets are comparable with 2008. It is connected with a reduction of number of cattle and pigs. The increase concerned purely export abroad and a similar situation will likely happen this year, too.

Kostelecké uzeniny will release 300 people, they end with poultry

Gradually three hundred of unemployed from the meat-combine Kostelecké uzeniny will come in employment offices in Jihlava region. Management of the firm decided to close poultry slaughter at this year end which employs 300 people. In Jihlava region, 5 197 people were without work at the end of May; the unemployment rate was 8,2 percents. The slaughter operation will have decreased to half by September and at this year end the production will be taken over by Vodňanská drůbež.

Timber harvesting in South Moravia increased second year, last year by 3.6 pct

Wood cutters harvested 1 068 125 cubic meters of wood without bark in South-Moravian region last year which is year-on-yearly by 3.6 percent more. The harvest grew already the second year; the year before last it was by 12 percents. Two thirds of harvested wood were coniferous growths, above all spruce. ČTK found it out from data of the Czech Statistic Office. A share of the region in the all-republic timber harvesting amounted to 6.9 percent last year; in timber species from leafy forests it was almost quarter. The most often harvested leafy timber species is oak tree; roughly four from ten cut trunks in the Czech Republic come from South Moravia.

It is not dealt with an empty proclamation like it was called at one time “For harvest in time, hurrah!”. On Wednesday, the 16th of June in Brussels, chiefs of the supreme veterinary inspection bodies of member states negotiated about a strategy of animal health as it was indicated by the EU Council for 2007 - 2013. The main motto of this strategy is “Prevention is better then treatment” and now it is dealt with how put in practice what all veterinarians and zootechnicians learn in school. According to the Commission it is probably that a concept of veterinary legislative will be submitted in the first half-year 2011 which will give to this strategy a law framework.
