Kaufland sells products Fair Trade

Customers in department stores Kaufland find many products sold under the trademark Fair Trade now. The company Kaufland ranked among chain stores and other firms which are not indifferent to the situation of almost 1.5 million growers, agricultural workers but also craftsmen in 58 countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America. Customers with each Fair Trade products will buy goods with ethically acceptable origin, support concrete growers in developing countries and last but not least they will obtain a high-quality product, moreover, often certificated as a product of organic agriculture (BIO).

Mushroom harvest will not be for the present; mycologist mistook

Often rainfalls and fast change of warmer and colder periods, which influenced the weather in the Czech Republic in recent days, did not make good too much to mushrooms. Nevertheless, at the beginning of June the Czech Mycological Society predicted an increased occurrence of mushrooms all over the country. However, it did not hit the mark, the weather betrayed it. Owing to cold above all boletus mushrooms damped their growth. Only some kinds of edible russulas and amanitas appear more frequently. Jaroslav Landa from the Czech Mycological Society said it to ČTK.

Activities of European Commission focused on health state of bees

A review of legislative regulations and activities in frame of the EU for mapping and improvement of health state of bees. The bee population plays an important role in the EU from both the point of view, the pollination and the production of honey and other bee products. Therefore the EU sets specific rules for protection of health state of bees. Concerning the trade, in the EU there are hold the same rules for bees like for “other” alive animals. A bee delivery has to meet general requirements for health state determined in the instruction of the Council 92/65/EHS (trading in the EU, import into the EU).

Agrofert of Andrej Babiš can take over meat-combines

The Office for Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) permitted sale of meat-combines Krahulík - Masozávod Krahulčí a Kmotr - Masna Kroměříž to the group Agrofert Holding belonging to Andrej Babiš. A chairman of the antimonopoly office Petr Rafaj confirmed it to ČTK. ÚOHS permitted the fusion without conditions. The companies Krahulík a Kmotr were controlled by Českomoravský uzenářský holding before the fusion. The Office dealt with possible impacts of the connection on the market of production and deliveries of smoked meat products in which the common share of joining competitors will be relatively low.
