Poles want milk automatic machines after Czech fashion

The Polish deputy minister of agriculture Artur Lawniczak will visit Valašské Meziříčí on Thursday the 1st of July. He accompanied by the vice-president of Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic Jindřich Šnejdrl and the deputy minister of agriculture of the CR Jiří Urban will see over BIO-production of dairy production in Mlékárna Valašské Meziříčí at 10 o´clock. Further, he will be at 11 o´clock in Mostní street where he wants to acquaint with function and significance of milk automatic machines, One of roughly 200, which already work in the CR, is installed there.

Vegetable growers: Already more than 60 percents of vegetable in shops is from import

Already more than 60 percents of vegetable on Czech market is from import and this share still increases. Representatives of the Vegetable growers Union of Bohemia and Moravia (ZUČM) stated it at today´s press conference. According to them, the most amount of vegetable is imported from the Netherlands, the most often imported kind is tomatoes. Therefore, domestic producers want to change the unfavourable state for their benefit by promotion of vegetable grown in so called integrated production system (IPZ) within which use of chemicals is significantly reduced against the classical way of growing.

Renewal of wheat harvest in the USA sent prices of futures contracts southwards

The biggest decrease in last 3 weeks was recorded in frame of Friday´s business séance of the last week by a proce of the most active September´s futures contract for wheat on the exchange Chicago Board of Trade. The cause was, after a period of undesirable rains, a renewal of current harvest in the states Kansas and Oklahoma in the USA which are two the biggest winter wheat growers in the United States. According to American Ministry of Agriculture, moreover 17 % of the total amount of winter wheat have been harvested to the June 20 in the USA which is by 2 % more than in the same period last year.

Share of agriculture in GAV decreased last year, in employment it increased

The share of agriculture in the total added value of Czech economy last year decreased by 0,28 percentage point to 1,65 percents. Vice versa, the share of branch in employment has slightly year-on-yearly increased to 2.91 percents. It is stated in the Report on state of agriculture of the CR over the year 2009 which ČTK keeps at disposal. Despite the share of agrarian sector in the total employment increased slightly, the number of people employed in agriculture decreased by five percents last year.
