Cucumber crop in Znojmo region will be worse than in last years

Cucumber crop in the region Znojmo will be worse than in last years. First of all the weather has a negative impact on the harvest quality. At first storm waters washed up plants in the spring, after that a drought came which cucumber like, but lastly the crop was damaged in some municipalities of the region Znojmo by a hail-storm. “The first problem was winter and rains in April. In some places we have tosow twice so cucumbers ripen unevenly”, a chairman of the cooperative Znojemská okurka, Zbyšek Dřevojan, stated. The cucumber situation in the region Znojmo is quite bad, according to him, and larger farms will harvest by 50 or 60 percents less than last year.

Maybe just therefore the milk automatic machines experienced a big boom in European scale which is obvious also in the CR from 2009. Scientists from the Institute of Milk Hygiene and Technology of the Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology at VFU Brno realize a research in which they focus not only on monitoring of parameters of milk from the automatic machines but also on behaviour of its consumers.

Lesy ČR will announce new tender after agreement with ministry

The state enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR) has prepared contractual documents to a giant tender for forestry works and timber sale from 2011. According to a LČR spokesman Zbyněk Boublík, after negotiation with a new management of the Ministry of Agriculture the enterprise should announce the competition. The original tender criticized by politicians, ecologists, forest firms and the antimonopoly office LČR cancelled in half of May. LČR owns a half of forests in the country.
