Budvar got one more year

The brewery will face a big change; an joint-stock company will become from the national enterprise. Immediately after coming of the new government, plans for transformation of the brewery in České Budějovic - Budějovický Budvar, the national enterprise, to a joint-stock company were dusted up. According to the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa (ODS), Budvar could have been transformed rouhly by one year. The proposal for transformation was brought by the than Mirek Topolánek´s government.

Farmers have meanwhile harvested 8 pct of cereals, harvest is slightly delayed

Farmers have still harvested eight percents of cereals fields inland; it results from a statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture. This year´s harvest is delayed against foregoing year roughly by a week. The biggest share of crop farmers managed to harvest on fields of winter barley, they have under roof already 84 percent. Vice versa, they have not started to harvest spring wheat and oat yet at all. The Agrarian Chamber estimates this year´s harvest of cereals including corn to 7.3 million tons, by 500 000 tons less than last above-average year.

Organic farming is still more and more popular in Europe

According to a prognosis brought by the European Commission on Friday the 16th of July, the EU member states will most likely rely on foreign import. According to a report elaborated for the European Commission, besides the increase in import, also a trade among richer west-European states and countries in Central and East Europe will grow. The reason is simple. Growing of food in Central and East Europe is so prosperous that it has exceeds a local demand many-times.

Yoghurt for 3 CZK? Prices fall and farmers cry

Such a price tag has to literally take about everybody: yoghurt for three crowns, cottage cheese for nine crowns and apple juice for twelve crowns. A price war of chains has raged for a longer time in the Czech Republic. A main weapon is called simply: a private mark. It is dealt with a product which is produced in a classical way by a food firm. However, it is sold on shelf of shops under a logo of the chain.
