Change in post of director of State Environment Fund

The minister Pavel Drobil met with a director of the State Environment Fund of the CR, Petr Štěpánek, today. After discussion on work and further orientation of the Fund they agreed on termination of mutual cooperation to the 5th of August, 2010. The minister Drobil thanked to Mr. Petr Štěpánek for his present work and in the function of director of the State Environment Fund of the CR named Mr. Libor Michálek who should start a new stage of this institution and begin to work on further development towards “a green bank”.

Quarter of “špekáček” got fail mark in fire, also Kostelecké uzeniny failed

We can buy delicious “špekáčky” (short sausages) as well as unappetizing products, cheated out of meat, which break regulations. You can not recognize the difference either in the appearance or the price. A test made by MF DNES revealed that a quarter of products doe not deserve its name “špekáček”. “Špekáček” has to have at least 40 percents of meat to deserve its name. And the meat has to be real, not separated by machines known under a term “separate”.

PET bottles will not be returnable, recycling is more profitable

The Czechs will not back-up PET bottles in purchase of beverages and return empty bottles in shops. The Ministry of Environment (MŽP) refused definitively all former plans for introduction back-ups in these packages this week. Vice versa, it wants to focus on improvement of the system of sorting communal waste.

Road will be flooded by advertisements for Czech farmers

Farmers want to improve their image by a massive media campaign. A part will be billboards and web pages. No more road blockades, no more demonstrations in squares. Czech farmer has a new weapon to achieve what he/she wants. At least according to the Agrarian Chamber of the CR which starts a wide advertising campaign these days which should improve the image of local farmers.
