Fuksa: Czech farmers will get nothing by means of even subsidies

Czech farmers will get nothing by subsidies equal with old countries of the European Union because costs of Czech farmers are on EU average. Vice versa, they would very help to farmers from countries as Romania and Bulgaria which would subsequently flooded inland market with their cheap products. The Minister of Agriculture Ivan Fuksa (ODS) told it in an on-line interview on the server iDnes.cz.

Distilleries suffer from lack of fruit, mainly of apricots

Distilleries in South Moravia started a season few days ago. However, fruit brandy lovers same as fruit-growers suffer from lack of fruit. In comparison with the last year, the operation of distilleries is roughly quarter. In Hrušky in Břeclav region they never had shortage of clients. They worked almost continually for two shifts in this period last year.

Amount of honey is small, bee-keepers claim, it will probably rise in price

Honey is a local matter this year, interviewed bee-keepers agree in the region Žďár nad Sázavou. Although some of bee-keepers still tap dark forest honey, it is evident already now, that the total amount of honey will be smaller than last year. A spring harvest was not too successful.

Ministry of Agriculture got record fine 1.8 mil from ÚOHS

The Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) will have to pay a record fine 1.8 million crown which it got from the Office for Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) for mistakes in tenders for information technologies. Last year´s commissions of a value half a billion crowns was gained without an open proceeding by the company Telefónica O2. The ministry headed by then minister in demission Petr Gandalovič (ODS) signed contracts with it in spite of a temporary ban of the office. Petr Rafaj, the chairman of antimonopoly office, confirmed it to ČTK today.
