Czech garlic disappeared in a flash from shelves in shops

Does Czech farmer manage to stand up to competition of cheaper import? It seems so. Mr. Filip Janda´s trade with garlic is an evidence of that. “We sell Czech garlic variety known as “modrý paličák”, Filip Janda explained for Deník. “We can recognize it that it has a mauve skin, maximally eight evenly big cloves, and a firm stem. And it is eight times stronger than common Chinese import”, he described.

Food Chamber of CR disagree with division of foods into healthy and unhealthy

The Food Chamber of the Czech Republic completely distance from activities which are developed by some subjects in purpose of so called true wising of the consumer and which try to palm the consumer off on an idea that in the given case he/she buys healthier or less harmful food. It is dealt especially with activities leading to awarding of a logo “I know what I eat” and “E-certificate”. These activities and their representatives cover themselves with a support of experts from the area of nutrition, relevant national authorities and some scientific workplaces.

E15: State wants to raise price of arable land owing to photovoltaic power stations

The Ministry of Environment (MŽP) brings other proposal to reduce building of photovoltaic power stations. It suggests increasing of payments for extirpation from the land fund to sextuple. In case of large projects the investor´s costs would raise even by several million crowns. Today´s E15 writes that. “The material still aims at inter-departmental negotiations, than in the government - so the number by how much the payment will be increased can change”, a spokeswoman of MŽP, Eva Vaverková said to the daily.

Weather tortured hop-growers, too

The Hop-Growing Union, despite the problems with weather, estimated a harvest volume to six thousand five hundred tones. The cooling in half if summer made a pleasure to growers; it slows down ripening of hop cones. 134 hop-growers grow the crop on production areas of 5210 hectares this year. The weather influenced also the beginning of harvest; most growers were forced to postpone it. After a May storm when hails hit 204 hectares of the crop, the hop-growers fear the most summer dry sultry weather.
